2016常州武进西太湖国际半程马拉松赛鸣枪开跑。本届比赛由中国田径协会、江苏省体育局、常州市人民政府主办，共吸引了20376名跑步爱好者报名参赛，与去年相比增加超过50%。作为常州地区规模最大、参与人数最多、影响最为深远的群众体育标志性赛事，中央电视台cctv5体育频道还对比赛进行了90分钟的现场直播。
